The music
Purrple Cat is a solo lofi project that started in December 2018 with the album Up All Night. Since then: 500+ songs, 500M+ streams and 425K followers. No face reveal, just the purple cat on the covers.
This site uses the 120 calmest instrumental tracks from 31 self-released Purrple Cat records, 5 h 40 min in all. Each one was measured for how soft its attacks are, how steady its level is, how warm it sounds and how fast it moves, and only the calmest made the cut.
The thread
Stress often feels like a knot, so that’s how it’s drawn. When you start a session the thread begins tangled, tighter the more tense you said you were, and it straightens out as the music plays. Tug it if you like; it’s there to fidget with.
Your log
If you save how you felt before and after, it goes into your log, which lives only in this browser.
Questions
- What is the best music for stress relief?
- Music that is slow, soft and steady, without sudden jumps, and that you actually like. Personal taste matters a lot. Everything here is calm instrumental lofi by Purrple Cat, measured and ranked for calmness.
- How does the session work?
- You say how tense you feel (1 to 10) and how long you have. The session starts with tracks that still have a little movement, more if you’re very tense, then gets softer and slower until the end. The thread untangles as it plays.
- How long should I listen?
- Even five or ten minutes can make a break feel like a real break. If you have longer, 20 to 30 minutes gives the music time to work.
- Is it free?
- Yes. All 120 tracks (5 h 40 min) play in full and every one downloads as an MP3. No account and no ads.
- Can I use this music in my videos or streams?
- Yes. Free to use with credit on all social media platforms (YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch, Facebook, X…), and livestreams are fine. Neither the music nor remixes, samples or covers of it may be uploaded to music streaming services like Spotify, Apple Music or YouTube Music, because that causes false Content ID claims. - Is my log private?
- Yes. How you felt before and after is saved only in your own browser. Nothing is sent anywhere, and you can clear it at any time.
- Can music treat stress or anxiety?
- It can help you relax, but it isn’t a treatment. If stress or anxiety is getting in the way of sleeping, eating, working or seeing people, talk to a doctor or someone you trust.
